About The Position

Senior Network Systems Administrator - PDA GDIT is seeking highly experienced and qualified Senior Network Systems Administrator - Primary Domain Administrator (PDA) to support our Mission Command (MC) training teams at the Fort Bliss, TX Mission Training Complex (MTC). The ideal candidate acts as a recognized technical expert in base labor category description. HOW THE SENIOR NETWORK SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR - PDA WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: Interact with the ISSO to ensure synchronization. Build, maintain, configure, update (Server Operating systems and Applications), apply Information Assurance Vulnerability Managements (IAVMS), and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), run the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) tool against, and run vulnerability scans on the: Domain Controllers (DC) servers, Hypervisors (HV), Endpoint Security Solution (ESS) servers, Network Management System (NMS) servers, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) Security Centers (SC) and NESSUS systems, and Standalone(configuration and antivirus laptops). Responsible for the configuration & maintenance of the NMS (Radius), Cisco Call Manager & Cisco IP phone network. Provides cross training for other technicians. Performs network administration duties and provides technical support to users. Configure communication media with concentrators, bridges, TACLANES, and other devices. Plans network layouts and configure systems to user environments. Analyzes network topologies, traffic, and capacity requirements. Evaluate current network infrastructure, procedures, processes, and network traffic and recommend improvements. Monitor applicable network resources for updated requirements and compliance directions. Download and apply Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) updates and plug-ins manually on the ESS, ACAS SC, NESSUS, NMS, NTP and other required servers. Update and maintain documentation for Servers and systems. Download, apply, and maintain STIG checklists for all applicable systems to include future updates/replacement application systems (Server, Internet Explorer (IE), .NET, Red hat Linux, McAfee, Active Directory, Doman Name, ESS ePO/Firewall/Policy/Rogue Sensor/Agent Handler, Firefox, Oracle JRE, IIS Server/Site, Database, Windows 11/Privileged User, Adobe Reader, Office, and Google Chrome). Perform daily, weekly, and monthly, annual checks on ESS, HVs, DCs, ACAS Security Centers, NMS and other required items on checklists. Perform weekly and monthly backups for logs and ESS, HVs, DCs, ACAS Security Centers, NMS, and other servers. Work with the Security Manager and Operations Specialist to ensure all physical security measures are met. Work with Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and Information System Security Officer (ISSO) on U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC), Installation Management Command (IMCOM), and Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security (DPTMS) projects. Perform information assurance technical (IAT) II duties for Mission Training Complex (MTC) Authority to Operate (ATO) Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Network for MTC buildings. Assist and perform duties as NIPR/SIPR Information Management Officer (IMO) on Fort Bliss Garrison Network Enterprise Center (NEC) devices to include NIPR/SIPR workstations, notebooks, printers and VTC components. Perform other responsibilities, scan peripherals for viruses, troubleshoot hardware and software problems. Create and Updates POAM, SSP, and other reports as needed in EMASS. Support the MTC, units, and other organizations during exercises. Assist Hub & Spoke sites (FT Cavazos, FT Carson, FT Riley, FT Sill, JBSA), which may include travel. Work with the Security Manager, ISSM, and ISSO to ensure DoD Command Operational Readiness Assessment (CORA) standards are followed along with DODI 8510.01, AR 25-2, DA PAM 25-2-14.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of eight years of related experience with two years in cyber security.
  • Must have 5 years of computer experience in information systems design and management.
  • At least 3 years of experience in analysis and design of business applications for complex large-scale or mid-tier computer systems, or LAN-based on a US Military staff (Battalion or higher).
  • 3 years of experience in the management of project, program, or site of similar size, scope and complexity.
  • IAT level II Certified IAW DoD 8570.01, any one of CCNA, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP
  • Must have administrative knowledge of Microsoft Server 2019, Red hat Linux, Windows 11, SQLEXPRESS, ESS, ACAS, and Microsoft Hyper Visor.
  • Must hold or obtain Computer Environment (CE) certification for all assigned Operating Systems support (This can be done on an approved DOD/US Army site).
  • Must have knowledge of EMASS, Tenable, Active Directory, GPO Management, and Domain Controllers.
  • Must understand RMF 2.0, DODI 8510.01, AR 25-2, DA PAM 25-2-14.
  • Must be capable of configuring Ethernet/Fiber, Firewalls, TACLANES, switches and routers.
  • Administrative knowledge of Call Manager, ESXi VMware, NMS Radius, and SolarWinds
  • Security Clearance Level: Secret required to start
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision on assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to support shifts that occur outside normal working hours to support 24/7 operations during exercise events that may be more than 40 hours per week.

Nice To Haves

  • Hold additional certifications: Security X (formerly CASP+), CEH, CFR, CySA+, Pentest+, CCNP Security, or GCIA
  • Administrative knowledge of Microsoft Server 2022.
