Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in telecommunications working with optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer 2/3 routers, and data services.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or Master's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control and process improvement, including demonstrable implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage operation of the global physical network, optical infrastructure.
  • Understand dataplane flows and performance against both steady-state, and planned capacity failures, and partner with design and software teams to validate, improve, and understand network dataplane flows, through automation and tooling.
  • Provide workflow support for capacity-related workflows in partnership with build teams, engage in development and prioritization for the safety layers that protect the production network from issues.
  • Own leadership and management of the daily operation of critical network infrastructure, including routers and transport systems.
  • Help develop and deliver ideas for physical network operations and transform the team onto that roadmap.
