About The Position
The Senior Network Engineering Lead at Ryder System Inc. is a pivotal role responsible for the engineering, deployment, and support of both cloud and on-premise network infrastructures. This position requires a deep technical expertise in network analysis, design, planning, assessment, development, and implementation. The Senior Network Engineering Lead will provide support for network architecture and operations on cloud platforms such as Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). As a primary escalation support resource, this role is crucial for ensuring optimal network performance and involves making recommendations and initiating corrective actions as necessary. In this role, the Senior Network Engineering Lead will be tasked with providing top-level support and ownership of the network infrastructure in a global environment, focusing on optimizing stability, availability, reliability, and performance. This includes managing and supporting network routers, switches, load balancers, and other network hardware and virtual appliances. The position also involves designing network topologies and architectures that address complex business requirements, while effectively communicating any technology impacts on the business. The Senior Network Engineering Lead will develop technical and business relationships, integrating activities with other departments to ensure successful project implementation and support. This includes collecting and analyzing business requirements for large, multi-functional projects and performing feasibility studies to translate these requirements into appropriate designs. Additionally, the role requires assisting application and IT teams with assessments of new technologies and application upgrades to ensure the network infrastructure aligns with business needs. Documentation is a key aspect of this role, as the Senior Network Engineering Lead will create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to networking infrastructure components, including network diagrams and technology data flow diagrams. The position also involves sharing responsibility with team members to ensure timely IT service delivery and maintaining good relationships with customers and IT colleagues to meet expected service levels. Participation in an on-call rotation is also required, along with other duties as assigned.
