About The Position

This opportunity is for a key personnel role on a classified enterprise contract we are currently bidding on, and the selected candidate will be featured as a critical technical contributor in our proposal submission. The Senior Network Engineer provides advanced engineering, operations, and sustainment support for a large‑scale classified enterprise environment. This role supports mission‑critical systems across multiple enclaves and ensures the availability, security, and performance of enterprise‑wide classified IT infrastructure. The engineer works as part of an integrated team supporting thousands of endpoints across numerous locations, including data centers, remote sites, and headquarters facilities. This position requires deep technical expertise, strong situational awareness, and the ability to operate in a high‑security, high‑availability environment.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with favorable adjudication.
  • 8+ years of experience in network engineering within secure or classified environments.
  • Expertise with enterprise routing/switching, firewalls, encryption devices, and secure network architectures.
  • Strong experience with VMware, Windows Server, RedHat, VDI (Citrix), and enterprise storage systems.
  • Proficiency with monitoring tools, backup solutions, and high‑availability architectures.
  • Experience supporting COOP/DR environments and mission-critical systems.
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation and operate within structured change-control processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting classified federal, defense, or intelligence environments.
  • Familiarity with SIEM, IDS/IPS, NAC, and enterprise security tools.
  • Knowledge of PKI, COMSEC, and Type‑1 encryptor management.
  • Certifications such as CCNP, CCSP, CISSP, Security+, VMware, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain secure classified network infrastructures across multiple enclaves.
  • Manage routing, switching, firewalls, encryption devices, and network address/routing schemes.
  • Monitor network and system performance, respond to alerts, and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Support virtualized environments (VMware), Citrix VDI, Windows/RedHat servers, and enterprise storage.
  • Maintain a lab environment for testing and validating changes prior to production deployment.
  • Perform data center support, including server installs, patching, backups, and DR/COOP readiness.
  • Conduct vulnerability scanning, remediation, and security device configuration (IDS, NAC, SIEM).
  • Support PKI lifecycle management and secure authentication technologies.
  • Execute changes through established change‑control processes and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting for escalated incidents and support endpoint imaging/deployment.
  • Conduct required onsite check‑ins and travel as needed for deployments or incident resolution.
