Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years primary role operating, troubleshooting, installing network routers and switches.
  • 5+ years primary role designing, architecting routed and switched networks.
  • 2+ years as senior or lead engineer in planning, designing, and building software defined networks.
  • 3+ years DoD environment.
  • Certifications: DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level III CASP+ CE CCNP Security CISA CISSP (or Associate) GCED GCIH CCSP
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering or Equivalent (Required)
  • Clearance: Must possess a Secret clearance

Responsibilities

  • Configure and install various network devices and services.
  • Monitor and analyze network performance and resource utilization to identify trends and potential problems.
  • Develop and implement capacity planning strategies to ensure that the network can meet the needs of the organization.
  • Apply current and emerging network design principles and protocols to design, implement, and maintain enterprise networks.
  • Experience with network virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with multi-tenant network architectures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of a width variety network routing and switching equipment devices from multiple vendors.
  • Experience with scripting languages, such as Python and Perl, for automating network tasks and responding to network threshold events.
  • Outstanding mathematics and IT abilities.
  • Manage the network connectivity at all VIP/GO quarters.
  • Implement and manage network connectivity and transport across all classification levels.
  • Manage and perform the installation, maintenance, and removal of all equipment in accordance with JSP-approved standards and architecture drawings, to include encryption devices, VoIP devices, and VoSIP devices, and auxiliary power equipment (i.e., Uninterrupted Power Supply).
  • Manage and perform life-cycle maintenance for all transport devices and supporting equipment.
  • Manage and perform the patching and cabling for JSP devices located in VIP/GO quarters.
