About The Position

As an Senior Network Engineer with MTSI, you will be responsible for the development of over the air network solutions to achieve advanced connectivity for Air Reserve Component (ARC) aircraft through an Open Systems Enclave (OSE). You will oversee the integration and development of these systems and execute in support of development, test, and reporting events for the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Command Test Center (AATC). The candidate will support AATC located in Tucson, AZ. Duties will include, but are not limited to: Apply systems engineering methods to define requirements, guide implementation, and improve testing efficiency of complex network systems. Coordinate with AATC/Intel and F-16 Test Lead on all command and control (C2) connectivity options and test events and support network test design. Direct and oversee network configuration management, documentation, and changes for related tests and exercises. Manage coordination within the larger AATC OSE team on scheduling and resource deconfliction. Document connectivity anomalies into OSE watch item (WIT) database and support software sprint planning meetings. Contribute to the production of design documents, test plans, and test reports as part of continuous improvement of existing programs that improve operational readiness. Provide inputs for training documentation to be delivered to system users. Attend technical / management meetings as requested by AATC Leadership. Advise ARC partner OSE programs to include F-15EX, F-35, KC-135, and others as appropriate to keep them abreast of latest technical developments and ensure system/platform alignment. Foster prospective technologies and develop relationships with various government and industry entities to enhance ARC platform connectivity and survivability to support ARC WEPTAC derived priorities. Deploy to participate in test events away from home station as required. Directly support AATC in the development of advanced combat systems from cradle to grave in an independent, high-energy environment and will operate in multidisciplinary teams of industry, government and military personnel consisting of engineers, analysts, scientists, pilots and other aircrew.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a system engineering/development role related to network development and/or integration.
  • Initial familiarity with open system enclave (OSE) to include Juniper Session Smart Router support, NiFi, tablet configuration file generation, KG encryptor configuration, read/write enable and read-only procedures, access control lists, and basic ProxMox and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) commands.
  • Background in USAF/USN combat aircraft systems, tactical employment, and development of tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Experience with test and development, to include change proposal/selection, test plan writing, design of test, test provisioning/scheduling, test execution, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong ability to work in an integrated product team environment with demonstrated leadership and customer interface skills.
  • Good analytical skills and be capable of operating in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to draft clear, concise reports, and to provide technical guidance and briefings.
  • The ability to work effectively with other program offices, other USG and DoD agencies, and senior US and foreign government officials at a variety of venues.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
  • Must have a can-do attitude and be self-starting, ambitious, and hard-working.
  • Active Secret security clearance is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and meet eligibility requirements for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAP).
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required in a technical/engineering discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in military aviation and flight test of avionics.
  • Background in Special Access Programs.
  • Experience in the design/use and aircraft data bus architecture.
  • Master’s degree in a technical discipline is desired.
