About The Position

Performs senior level network functions along with mentoring and providing technical guidance to other IT Network staff. The role is involved in the architecture, planning, development, implementation, maintenance, support, and securing of all network infrastructure technologies. Recommends new technologies and infrastructure upgrades to meet organization needs. Assists management with complex projects and assumes ongoing support of system infrastructure.

  • Bachelor's in related technical discipline
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) - Cisco
  • 4-6 years Related experience and/or training
  • Experience in network technologies such as TCP/IP, Ethernet, routing protocols, switching, Wi-Fi (wireless), and name resolution protocols

Responsibilities

  • Designs, implements, and maintains all data network infrastructure technologies.
  • Designs methodology and utilizes software and hardware tools to identify, diagnose, and correct problems affecting system performance.
  • Interacts with vendors and other Avera sites to coordinate the installation, configuration, and use of multi-site systems.
  • Interacts with end-users, vendors and Avera management and staff at all sites to coordinate the installation, configuration, and use of multi-site systems.
  • Implements and maintains systems supported by IT.
  • Monitors the implementations to assure proper operation and adherence to standards.
  • Works with the Network Architects to specify network system topology and design architecture, including standards and documentation development and enforcement.
  • Maintains logs and device inventories, as well as appropriate documentation including but not limited to application notes, drawings, and configuration information.
  • Actively participates in meetings concerning the evaluation and recommendation of network infrastructure budgets, designs, and components.
  • Ensures the highest level of security for data at rest, data in motion, and data being processed in compliance with state and federal regulations, healthcare industry standards, IT industry standards, and Avera policies concerning security and data integrity.
