About The Position

Install, configure, and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet system or a segment of a network system. Maintain network hardware and software. Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. May supervise other network support and client server specialists and plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures.

  • Five (5) years in IT Infrastructure
  • Valid State Driver's License
  • Minimum of five (5) years related experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet Mist, and/or Cisco LAN/WAN products.
  • Minimum of two (2) years related experience building/modifying VPN tunnels and ACLs on Palo Alto and Cisco equipment.
  • Minimum of five (5) years related experience as a network engineer in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with complex multi-site networks
  • Experience with complex multi-site network troubleshooting, multilayered switch environment, VPN technologies.
  • Proficient in Windows 10/11. Windows Server 2012/16/19 experience a plus. Linux experience a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical instructions and documentation
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
  • Driven to provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work after hours.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one of the following current certifications: COMPTIA Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or CCDA.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain network equipment and circuits across the entrprise (Primarily Palo Alto, Juniper Mist, and Cisco).
  • Consolidate legacy circuits/hardware and the services traversing them to new modern circuits and hardware.
  • Configure router equipment. Install software, configure network ports, set up routing protocols, implement VLANs, configure IPSEC VPN tunnels, create ACLs, etc.
  • Troubleshoot routers, switches, and other network . Use GUI and CLI interface to view network metrics, including: interface stats, ARP tables, interface utilizations (aggregate, by protocol, by IP addr), interface errors, etc.
  • Support network availability, perform installation, upgrade, and problem resolution.
  • Implement/internconnect network services in multiple locations across private fiber, wireless P2P/P2MP, and carrier provisioned circuits.
  • Responsible for the organization, security, and physical protection of the network devices and equipment.
  • Conduct network and security assessments to troubleshoot and optimize network performance and design.
  • Analyze network characteristics (e.g., traffic, connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput), troubleshoot problems and recommend procurement, removals, and modifications to network components and generate usage reports.
  • Responsible for development and maintenance of network and systems documentation including network diagrams and system administration processes and procedures.
  • Responsible for development and testing of disaster recovery processes and procedures.
  • Responsible for system tuning, administration, and monitoring of managed networks.
  • Collaborate with IT, telecom, and other hospital department staff to solve internal and customer-facing network issues.
  • Participates in the on-call production support rotation and travel to customer sites.
  • Participates in projects as needed.
