Senior Network Engineer
About The Position
The Defense Sector of Leidos has an opening for a Senior Network Engineer to support a network program in San Miguel, CA. The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for supporting core network infrastructure devices, including troubleshooting and quick fixes, on-site support, and providing requirements to drive improvement. Primary Responsibilities : Deploy network system upgrades at CONUS and OCONUS field sites. Become site focal for the program and coordinate installations. Provide onsite support for troubleshooting and problem resolutions. Perform network maintenance and upgrades. Provide documentation and reporting. Assist with Disaster Recovery and Business continuity planning. Provide compliance and standards alignment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field with 12+ years of experience or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field with 10+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in network infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience of Juniper SSR architecture and configuration.
- Expertise in SD-WAN technologies and implementation.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Cisco IOS/IOS-XE operating systems.
- Strong understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP).
- Experience with network virtualization and software-defined networking.
- Familiarity with network automation tools.
- Proven track record in SD-Wan solutions.
- Familiarity with WAN optimizing.
- Understanding and implementing QoS.
- Proficient knowledge of network engineering, network architecture, and network automation.
- Strong written and verbal communications, team building and collaboration skills.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
- Familiarity with VoIP and unified communications technologies.
- Understanding of containerization and microservices architectures.
