About The Position

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Network Engineer - TS/SCI to support a high-impact initiative with an organization in Oakton, Virginia. The Senior Network Engineer - TS/SCI role is onsite (5 days a week) for 6 months and focused on enhancing network visibility, security, and performance monitoring across complex environments.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Ability to work onsite Monday - Friday in Oakton, Virginia
• 5+ years of Network Engineering experience (Route/Switch)
• Deep experience in network traffic analysis and protocol-level troubleshooting
• Proficiency in analyzing PCAP data and tuning monitoring tools
• Strong documentation and reporting skills
• Must be eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Analyze PCAP data to identify threats, anomalies, and performance issues
• Establish and maintain baseline profiles for 'normal' network behavior
• Conduct protocol-level analysis (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, SMTP, TLS, VPN)
• Develop technical and non-technical reports, summaries, and actionable insights
• Tune alerts, dashboards, and data feeds based on network traffic sources
• Mentor junior engineers and analysts on advanced traffic analysis techniques
• Document and improve troubleshooting procedures (e.g., MTU/fragmentation)

Benefits
