We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This pivotal role will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our organization's network infrastructure. The IT Network Engineer will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of our network operations. This position requires a deep understanding of networking principles, hands-on experience with complex network environments, and strong problem-solving capabilities. This position's internal job code is Network Designer. Our team is currently hiring for levels 4-5.

  • Design, plan, and implement robust, scalable, and secure network architectures, including LAN, WAN, wireless, and cloud networking solutions
  • Manage network security, including firewall configuration, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access control
  • Lead the deployment of network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers
  • Ensure network resilience and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and policies
  • Must know multi-vendor switching and routing (e.g., Juniper, Cisco, Dell)
  • Expertise in routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF)
  • In-depth experience with firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA)
  • Experience deploying and maintaining VPN technologies (e.g., IPsec, SSL VPN, Azure ExpressRoute)
  • Strong knowledge of switching technologies (e.g., Layer 2/Layer 3, VLANs, STP)
  • Experience with network management and automation platforms (e.g., Panorama, Mist, Apstra)
  • DoD 8140 Level 2 Cert (such as Security+ CE or equivalent)
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accepted and accredited college or university with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science or ten (10) years minimum work experience
  • This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
  • Experience with network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible)
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and analysis tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark)
  • Experience with cloud networking environments (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  • Knowledge of wireless networking standards and technologies
  • Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA) or higher
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) or higher
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher
