About The Position

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. As a Senior Network Development Engineer, you will drive the operational strategy and excellence of Kuiper's global network infrastructure. You will lead critical programs across manufacturing facilities, research labs, launch sites, and mission operations centers, while developing and mentoring a team of network development engineers to ensure operational excellence at scale.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience
  • 8+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
  • 5+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
  • Experience with AWS and AWS networking products such as Direct Connect and Transit Gateway

Responsibilities

  • Lead the deployment and ongoing maintenance of complex network solutions in manufacturing and lab environments
  • Drive operational excellence programs across multiple sites and network domains
  • Lead incident management for highest severity network events
  • Establish best practices for network operations across global facilities
  • Create and own operational readiness programs for new site deployments
  • Lead root cause analysis for complex, multi-system operational issues
  • Develop and execute operational improvement roadmaps
  • Build and lead programs for team training and skill development
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for critical network operational issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network reliability for mission-critical operations
