About The Position

The Senior Network Architecture Engineer provides enterprise-level network architecture, design, and engineering support for government IT environments. This role is responsible for assessing current and future network architectures, documenting system interdependencies, designing scalable and secure infrastructures, and ensuring alignment with mission and business objectives. The individual serves as the technical authority for network modernization, resilience, availability, and performance while supporting enterprise architecture frameworks, roadmaps, and compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
  • Network security architecture
  • Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs
  • Load balancing
  • Software-defined networking (SDN)
  • Network virtualization
  • DNS/DHCP and InfoBlox
  • Proficiency with architecture tools (Visio, Draw.io, Lucid, or equivalent)
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently in a mission-critical environment
  • Good interpersonal skills: ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff, affiliated-company employees as well as outside business associates; exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others.

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in enterprise network architecture and engineering.
  • Cisco CCNP
  • CompTIA Network+ / Security+
  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and supporting large-scale government or enterprise networks.
  • Experience with:
  • On-premises, hybrid, and cloud networking
  • Multi-enclave and classified network environments
  • High-availability and disaster recovery design
  • Experience supporting RMF, STIG, and NIST compliance efforts
  • Strong experience producing technical diagrams and documentation
  • Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain
  • Must be U.S. citizen.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise network architecture planning, design, and sustainment activities
  • Perform quarterly architecture assessments and discovery of network, system, and application relationships
  • Analyze network dependencies and proactively identify risks to availability, performance, and security
  • Develop and maintain layered network architecture documentation including:
  • Conceptual diagrams
  • Logical network designs
  • Physical topology diagrams
  • Data and traffic flow maps
  • Design secure and scalable network infrastructures supporting on-premise, hybrid, and cloud environments
  • Architect WAN, LAN, MAN, and enclave-based networks across multiple security domains
  • Support network segmentation, zero-trust architectures, and boundary protection strategies
  • Design and maintain high-availability, failover, and disaster recovery network architectures
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and provide strategic recommendations
  • Support change management, engineering reviews, and technical governance boards
  • Collaborate with application, systems, cybersecurity, and operations teams
  • Provide technical input to modernization initiatives and technology roadmaps
  • Maintain documentation in alignment with PWS, RMF, and audit requirements
  • Support incident analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective action planning
  • Present architecture findings and recommendations to government stakeholders
  • Perform other duties as appropriate and as assigned.
