About The Position

Provides technical support to Plexus global user community while ensuring that applications, systems, networks, and technologies are available and functioning in support of business processes. Collaboration with other IT personnel, vendors, and business personnel to identify and resolve issues as well as provide effort to technology projects that promote the Plexus philosophy and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5 or more years of related experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
  • Core Networking: Deep knowledge of networking services, Layer 2/3 protocols (BGP, OSPF), and switching architecture (VLANs, STP, VSS/StackWise).
  • Cisco Switching & Wireless: Proven expertise in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Catalyst switches and Cisco Wireless environments (high-density RF design, Wi-Fi 6/6E, mobility groups).
  • Palo Alto Ecosystem: Advanced administration of Palo Alto Firewalls, including App-ID, User-ID, and Content-ID. Experience with Panorama for centralized policy management and template stacks. Configuration of GlobalProtect for remote access VPNs and site-to-site VPN tunnels.
  • Network Security & Automation: Advanced administration of Cisco ISE (Policy Sets, TACACS+, RADIUS) and integration with Palo Alto firewalls for identity-aware security policies. Experience utilizing Cisco Catalyst Center for network inventory, SWIM (Software Image Management), and network assurance/health monitoring.
  • General Skills: Computer literacy in Google Workspace or Windows environment including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheets, flowcharting, and other software development, documentation, or project management tools needed to perform assignment.
  • Confidentiality & Safety: Maintain the confidentiality of all departments, company, and customer information while working safely at all times.
  • Availability: The ability to support around-the-clock monitoring and management and may result in support or activities after normal business hours.
  • Agility: Able to multi-task and remain organized while adapting to the needs of Plexus.

  • Cisco: CCNP Enterprise (ENCOR/SISE).
  • Palo Alto: PCNSE (Network Security Engineer) or PCNSA (Network Security Administrator).

Responsibilities

  • System Maintenance: Follows established change management policy and procedure to research and recommend new technology, test and implement system updates, modifications, or deletions. Works to ensure systems remain healthy and available while delivering flawless execution to common, customized, and complex tasks as well as strategic projects.
  • System Ownership: Own and maintain systems, networks, technologies, inventory, or processes that provide a solution to a business function of Plexus.
  • Cisco Infrastructure: Expert-level support of high-complexity network solutions, specifically including Cisco Catalyst Switching (Cat9k), Cisco Wireless (WLCs/APs), Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), and Cisco Catalyst Center.
  • Network Security (Firewalling): Manage and secure the network perimeter and internal segmentation using Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW). Responsible for policy management, High Availability (HA) configuration, and VPN services via GlobalProtect.
  • Availability & Security: Ensure the availability, integrity, security, and recoverability of Plexus data on a 24 x 7 x 365 basis. This includes ticket escalation and resolution; patch management (PAN-OS/IOS-XE); performance monitoring; resource capacity management; and upgrade execution.
  • Resolution: Ensures user satisfaction by resolving complex operational issues regarding area of expertise or assignment, utilizing Plexus policies and/or procedures. Delivers permanent resolution and improves operating efficiencies through root cause analysis.
  • Project Work: Partner and collaborate with members of global IT including project management, solution management, infrastructure, and Engineering Solutions to deploy high-complexity purchased or developed technologies that support business requirements.
  • Design & Implementation: Lead the design and migration of network architecture utilizing Cisco Catalyst Center for automation and Palo Alto Panorama for centralized security management.
  • User Support: Ensures user satisfaction by resolving common, customized, and complex operational issues regarding areas of expertise or assignment. Identifies permanent resolution through root cause analysis.
  • Operations: Develop, enhance, and follow policies and procedures that are established to deploy, manage, and support systems which provide services to global, regional, or local Plexus personnel and/or customer needs.
  • Security Best Practices: Implement and provide guidance related to processes and security policies while incorporating security best practices in network design implementation.
