About The Position

NetImpact Strategies is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to manage and maintain the agency's enterprise network infrastructure. You will oversee deployment, configuration, and support of Cisco routers, switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and cloud networking systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability. In this key role, you will mentor junior staff, lead high-impact network initiatives, and deliver innovative solutions aligned with organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
  • CCIE certification, or at least 10 years of experience in LAN/WAN, wireless, VoIP, data center, SDN administration, engineering, and architecture
  • Proven expertise with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and network protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VLANs)
  • Experience managing Palo Alto firewall configurations and security policies
  • Skilled in diagnosing and resolving complex network security, connectivity, and performance issues
  • Strong documentation and analytical skills, with ability to architect and implement enterprise solutions

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and hybrid architecture
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Cisco DNA Center)
  • Certifications such as CCNP or cloud‑related network certifications
  • Proven history of mentoring staff and leading complex network initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Cisco network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Manage and support Palo Alto firewalls and cloud network environments to ensure secure, stable, and optimized operations.
  • Monitor and optimize network performance, ensuring efficient resource utilization and minimal downtime.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, including connectivity, performance, and security problems.
  • Ensure network security compliance by applying patches, updates, and security configurations across all network devices.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to integrate network solutions with enterprise systems and support organizational initiatives.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to junior network administrators and IT staff.
  • Deliver architect-level network infrastructure services, including secure baseline configurations, network implementation planning, and service deployments.
