About The Position

High availability of the computer, data and voice communications systems to support company operations Identify and resolve problems and technical issues on the LAN/WAN and phone system Provide support to IT and users on any issues that cannot be processes resolved in a timely manner by other operations staff Administration, monitoring, patching and reporting on network, communications and hardware resources Document all changes, policies and procedures for these systems Effective resolution of security notifications and alerts Work with Systems & Network Manager to review, investigate and resolve alerts within Microsoft M365 Protection and other security logs Proactively monitor, investigate and resolve alerts within networking infrastructure and systems Assist the System & Network Manager with timely security patch deployment Document and report to Systems/Network Manager on status of client security compliance and health Effective Backup and Recovery Testing Work with IT staff and key stakeholders to coordinate replication and failover testing Work with the System & Network Manager to proactively maintain current documentation and recovery plans for the supported servers Work with the System & Network Manager to test system back-ups and ensure all are complete and usable Proactively develop and share with the System & Network Manager knowledge and use of backup and recovery software and implement best practices on their use Successful execution of Special Projects Implement solutions for special systems related projects Identify and notify the Systems & Network Manager of any discrepancies or problems Recommend solutions and enhancements to solve business problems Provide basic coverage in the absence of other personnel

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in network administration or IT infrastructure support, preferably in a multi-site or enterprise environment
  • Proven experience managing LAN/WAN infrastructure, network security, and voice communication systems
  • Experience administering and supporting Microsoft 365, Entra, Intune, Exchange, Windows Server, and IBM i systems preferred
  • Proficiency with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, and endpoint protection tools (e.g., Microsoft 365 Defender, Zero Networks, etc.)
  • Proactive mindset focused on system reliability, security, and continuous improvement

Nice To Haves

  • Experience administering and supporting Microsoft 365, Entra, Intune, Exchange, Windows Server, and IBM i systems preferred
