About The Position

SIXT is looking for a Senior Network Administrator who will provide escalated support and troubleshooting for Network Administrators. They manage daily maintenance of network hardware, O365, email, firewalls, and network systems. Collaborating with the IT Director, they assist with implementing new technologies, system upgrades, hardware rollouts, and training. Through continuous monitoring, the Senior Network Administrator proactively identifies and reports network issues or threats.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years in IT, with expertise in network performance tuning, LAN knowledge, and network design and implementation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a customer-focused approach, ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction.
  • Proven experience in project management, strategic planning, and change management, including change implementation planning and execution.
  • Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams and effectively communicating both in writing and verbally, including engaging presentation skills.
  • Proficient in MS AD, MS O365, FortiGate, Fortinet switches, VLAN, Citrix, Cato, Ring Central, Barramundi Endpoint Security, and TeamViewer.
  • Familiar with ITIL best practices, ensuring structured and efficient management of IT services and continuous process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Establish network specifications with German stakeholders, design router administration, and configure firewalls.
  • Monitor performance metrics (availability, utilization, throughput, latency) to maintain uptime above 95%.
  • Perform day-to-day maintenance of network servers, backups, and hardware.
  • Secure network access, monitor for threats, update antivirus software, and ensure compliance with security policies.
  • Address network outages immediately, participate in on-call rotations, provide escalation support to the IT Service Desk, diagnose and resolve technical issues to prevent escalation.
  • Lead IT responsibilities for branch openings, closures, relocations, manage vendor relationships, ensure timely equipment procurement, and collaborate across departments to meet business deadlines.
  • Maintain network documentation, including configurations, policies, ISP details, and security protocols.
  • Conduct weekly user access audits and track critical system failures.
  • Train and mentor team members, work with the IT Director on system architecture, ensure clear communication with stakeholders and effectively manage multiple projects and high-pressure situations.
