onsemi is a leading innovator in semiconductor technology, dedicated to advancing power electronics through cutting-edge research and development. We are seeking a talented and motivated MTS Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of discrete power FET technologies.

  • Develop the technology for onsemi's advanced nodes of discrete power FETs
  • Work to optimize discrete power FET devices for various applications.
  • Conduct simulations and modeling to predict device performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate power FETs into system-level solutions.
  • Perform characterization and testing of power FET devices to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data to drive continuous improvement in device performance.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in power FET technology and industry trends.
  • Document design processes, test results, and technical reports.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to engineering and manufacturing teams during production ramp-up.
  • Report directly to the Sr. Director of Technology Development.
  • Coach and mentor more junior engineers, with potential to manage directly or matrix manage IC's reporting into other organizations.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, including presenting technical information in executive-level reviews.
  • PhD, Master's, or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in semiconductor device design and development, specifically in power FET technology.
  • Proficiency in simulation tools such as TCAD, SPICE, and other relevant software.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor physics and device fabrication processes.
  • Experience with 300mm fab processes and technology.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in team settings.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, able to matrix manage engineering teams, set direction, work independently to translate high level objectives into actionable work.
  • Effective communication skills to present technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with high-voltage and high-current power FET applications.
  • Knowledge of reliability testing and failure analysis techniques, especially for automotive-class semiconductors.
  • Design experience and familiarity with design environments, design rules, and tools.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for power electronics.
  • Strong understanding of DOE, models based problem solving, 6-sigma methodologies, statistical process control, FMEA, and data analysis.
