About The Position

The Senior Monitoring Engineer will design and deploy monitoring solutions for databases, networks, infrastructure services, applications, and mission-critical health care systems for newly formed (TOC/NOC) Technology Operations Center. This opening needs to be filled in person in Sioux Falls, SD. Working remotely is not an option.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Systems Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of two years in a hands-on technical operations role with an emphasis on monitoring functions.
  • At least five years industry experience supporting an enterprise environment.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing monitoring solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring tools and technologies (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a healthcare setting.
  • ServiceNow Event Management experience.
  • Cisco Unified Communications Telephony Experience.
  • Experience with JSON, Rest API, and PowerShell.
  • Scripting experience in languages such as Python, Perl, PowerShell, bash, VBScript, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy monitoring solutions for critical healthcare systems and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Maintain platform health by keeping current on upgrades and patches.
  • Report on the status of operational services, log and performance, and other trend analyses.
  • Collaborate with peers in coordinating, responding, and implementing responses to IT infrastructure issues.
  • Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to enhance monitoring capabilities.
  • Integrate security monitoring into the overall monitoring strategy.
  • Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning.
  • Provide training to other IT staff on monitoring tools and best practices.
  • Act as a key member of the incident response team.
