About The Position

This position performs waived, moderate, and high complexity testing according to CLIA ‘88 guidelines. The role involves interpreting and reporting results for established tests and examinations in at least one of the following fields within the clinical laboratory: Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Blood Bank, and Microbiology. The Senior MLS Microbiology professional is expected to comprehend the theories and concepts for each procedure and utilize independent thinking and communication skills to convey these concepts to physicians and other hospital staff. Responsibilities also include performing quality control, quality assurance, maintenance, and troubleshooting, as well as providing oversight of clinical processes for all department staff, including CAP surveys, competency assessment, and training. Requirements

  • A master’s or bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of two years of experience
  • MLS (ASCP or AMT) certification
