About The Position

The MECM Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) to manage and secure Windows endpoints across the enterprise. This role ensures reliable operating system deployment, application delivery, patch management, and endpoint compliance while supporting overall IT operations and security objectives. This position is a contract position, with the opportunity of potential full-time placement.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of hands‑on experience with MECM/SCCM administration
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS (Windows 10/11)
  • Experience with OSD, application deployment, and patching
  • Solid understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
  • Experience scripting with PowerShell
  • Familiarity with SQL Server concepts and MECM database reporting
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager and co‑management
  • Knowledge of Windows Autopilot and modern device management
  • Experience with third‑party patching (Adobe, Chrome, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Defender, security baselines, or CIS benchmarks
  • Microsoft certifications (MD‑102, MS‑101, MS‑102, or similar)

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, Administer and maintain Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) infrastructure
  • Manage device collections, boundaries, boundary groups, and site configurations
  • Monitor MECM health, performance, and availability
  • Perform upgrades, hotfixes, and maintenance of MECM environments
  • Design and maintain OS deployment task sequences (Windows 10/11)
  • Manage boot images, drivers, and driver packages
  • Support bare‑metal, refresh, and in‑place upgrade scenarios
  • Package, test, and deploy applications using MSI, EXE, PowerShell, and scripts
  • Manage application supersedence, dependencies, and detection methods
  • Troubleshoot deployment failures and client issues
  • Implement and manage Windows Updates and third‑party patching
  • Create and maintain update deployment rings and maintenance windows
  • Monitor patch compliance and remediation
  • Integrate MECM with Microsoft Intune / co‑management (if applicable)
  • Support compliance baselines, configuration items, and reporting
  • Work with security teams to remediate vulnerabilities and enforce policies
  • Resolve MECM client issues (client health, policy retrieval, content download)
  • Troubleshoot PXE, software center, and update failures
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support and escalation assistance
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and SOPs
  • Develop reports using MECM, SQL, and/or Power BI
  • Track deployment success, compliance, and endpoint metrics
