About The Position

Role Overview As a Senior Microbiology Laboratory Technologist focused on Environmental Monitoring, you will be the steward of aseptic technique and microbiological quality for in-process, finished product, and raw material testing. Your work will directly support environmental/water/bioburden monitoring, media and lab supply preparation, sterility testing, and microbial identification, all under USP, ISO, GMP, and internal SOP frameworks. A Day in the Life You begin your shift by confirming incubations and planning the day’s activities. You prepare culture media, sterilize supplies via autoclave, and stage the laminar flow hood for aseptic operations. You perform environmental and personnel monitoring, including surface sampling, gowning assessments, viable air monitoring, and non-viable particle counts. You load sterility isolators with test articles and materials, then execute the VHP cycle. Throughout the shift, you conduct growth promotion testing and sterility verification, carry out water, disinfectant, and pre-sterilized product testing, and complete particulate matter testing on finished products in a laminar flow hood. You finalize by reading plates and liquid media, documenting results with precision, and performing timely data review for compliance, accuracy, and good documentation practices.
