CTG is seeking a Senior MF Cobol Designer/Programmer to provide technical leadership and support for the Loan Servicing Platform, specifically within the Shaw Vendor application. This role involves designing, specifying, and developing solutions to address both basic and complex issues within the IBM Mainframe environment, while also leveraging modern IBM z development platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of technical expertise in application development, systems analysis, and leadership in managing contributions from both individuals and project teams, with experience in Agile environments and remote collaboration.

  • Lead the design and development of complex systems analysis, design, and programming for Loan Servicing Platforms (Shaw Vendor).
  • Oversee and direct less experienced resources, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively for small to large-scale projects.
  • Manage and prepare the technical components of project plans and ensure adherence to deadlines.
  • Work with Development, Operations, and Technology teams to ensure alignment of systems development with overall business objectives.
  • Create, execute, and review detailed test plans, including debugging and ensuring functionality.
  • Provide highly analytical consulting for the application of new technologies, enhancing business processes.
  • Prepare thorough technical documentation, including specifications, flowcharts, and diagrams.
  • Conduct assessments of scope, tasks, and timeframes for projects and communicate these to stakeholders.
  • Maintain effective operations of supported applications, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Recommend improvements in technology, processes, or policies to support the organization's strategic goals.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, risk policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Minimum of an Associate's degree and 5 years of experience in systems analysis/application development, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years of higher education and/or work experience, including at least 5 years in systems analysis/application development.
  • Proficiency in MF Cobol.
  • Experience with Shaw Loan Servicing Application.
  • Strong background in MF Modernization and working with the IBM Mainframe environment.
  • Familiarity with application development software and hardware platforms.
  • Proficiency with project management, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Good understanding of the Bank's application framework.
  • Subject matter expertise in the business area supported, with knowledge of the relevant applications and systems.
  • Experience with advanced systems analysis and integrated applications.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
  • Experience working with modern IBM z development platforms (IDz, zDIH, ADDI, DBB, z/OS Connect).
  • Familiarity with Gitlab, Sonar, and automated testing tools.
  • Experience in Agile development environments and leading complex design projects.
  • Competitive salary range from $118,000 to $135,000.
