SENIOR METALLURGIST - RAW MATERIALS AND MELTING PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE SENIOR METALLURGIST - RAW MATERIALS AND MELTING Provides a diversified range of technical services to our internal and external customers supporting the attainment of Company and division goals. Responsible for making disposition of referred, non-conforming and off-standard material, including but not limited to off chemistry heats and raw materials. Demonstrates ability to provide training and education to customers. May provide support, leadership, and guidance to peers, customers, and managers in key projects. Applies statistical methods to solve problems and design experiments. Assists in the use of SPC, six-sigma and/or BPI tools to detect project inefficiencies. Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned. Specifically assigned to the raw materials and melting area focused on identifying waste, improving processes, and reducing cost in the raw material value stream.
