A one-size-fits-all approach does not apply to everyone, and teams are empowered to make decisions best for them. The Manager position supports Albertsons Companies National Merchandising Department. This position will be responsible for supporting the Fresh Category Development and National Reset Process from the beginning of the process through planogram publishing. The Manager will work closely with the National Category Director and Assistant Category Manager as well as other cross-functional teams to develop actionable recommendations to improve category performance relating to sales, share, operational metrics, and productivity.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or prior category management equivalent experience
  • Fresh and Perishable product knowledge and merchandising background preferred
  • Strong PC skills (preferred Microsoft Office knowledge)
  • Working knowledge of internal Albertsons systems a plus
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve business problems

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
  • Team oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to interface and build relationships with key decision makers
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal & written)

Responsibilities

  • Trains and develops Category Managers and Category Analysts
  • Working with National Merchandising Category Teams to complete resets following the Fresh Category Development process as well as Winning Model Category Review process
  • Hitting all the timeline milestones
  • Improving overall shelf health metrics including pack-out, productivity, sales and share performance
  • Leading the Distinct in Fresh and Winning Model review process
  • Leading Kickoff meetings, agreeing on the category assessment framework
  • Leading the development of Category Assessment presentations
  • Working with all relevant functional areas to identify opportunities and recommend a course of action
  • Leading the establishment of pack out and productivity goals for the resets where applicable
  • Leading the Assortment recommendation process utilizing Albertsons assortment tools
  • Collaborate with National Category Directors and Divisions to establish strategy, assortment recommendations, and Planogram recommendations where applicable
  • Provides analytical data to National Merchandising Team
  • Serves as the Subject Matter Expert throughout the Category Development process

Benefits

  • The salary range is $95,400 to $123,900 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.
