About The Position

The Senior Merchandise Planner is a highly analytical specialist responsible for forecasting, inventory optimization, and performance analysis across Diamond Baseball Holdings in venue retail and eCommerce business. This role owns category level financial and assortment plans and can turn complex demand signals into clear recommendations that drive sales, margin, and inventory efficiency across the Diamond Baseball Holdings retail portfolio.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of merchandise planning or retail analytics experience; sports or venue retail strongly preferred.
  • Advanced analytical skills and highly proficient in Excel; experience with BI tools and planning systems a plus.
  • Deep understanding of retail KPIs including sell-through, WOS, inventory turns, GMROI, and margin.
  • Organized and proactive self-starter comfortable taking ownership of assigned work.
  • Proven ability to synthesize data into clear recommendations under tight timelines.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence decisions through analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or a quantitative field.

Responsibilities

  • Own sales, unit, margin, and inventory forecasts by channel, team, category and collection.
  • Build data-driven demand and assortment models incorporating schedules, attendance, team performance, promotions, and historical sell-through.
  • Develop and manage open-to-buy and buy plan process for each team.
  • Reforecast in-season to reflect real-time performance and demand shifts.
  • Analyze inventory flow, turns, weeks of supply, and sell-through to minimize inventory liability.
  • Identify risks and opportunities related to stock depth, sizing, and collections.
  • Act as the analytical thought partner to Divisional Merchandise Managers on assortment strategy and depth.
  • Collaborate with Finance on budgets, forecasts, and KPI alignment.
  • Drive consistent planning discipline across fast-paced, event-driven retail environments.
  • Monitor daily and weekly KPIs developing a consistent and actionable reporting cadence.
  • Produce actionable insights and recommendations on rebuys, reallocations, pricing, and exit strategies.
  • Lead post-event and end-of-season performance analysis to inform future planning.
