Job Overview: Under the direction of the Health and Wellness Program Manager, the Senior Mental Health Specialist is responsible for addressing mental health focused service provision for newly arrived refugees resettled by the IRC UT office including: implementing mental health screenings and referrals to individual treatment for newly resettled refugees, coordinating intakes to treatment and follow ups to care, consistent care coordination between partner agencies and clients, addressing severe mental health and community mental and emotional wellbeing needs, facilitating staffing meetings with mental health providers and acting as the primary reference point within the IRC office for mental health related activities and concerns. This effort will center on the implementation of the Refugee Health Screener-15 (RHS-15), engaging in psycho-educational support, and facilitating group interventions.
