Career Level - IC3 Responsibilities OCI Compute is looking for a versatile developer with a background in cloud services, server technology and large and complex software systems who can independently own and drive outcomes across the compute organization for high priority programs with large business impact. As a Senior Member of the Technical Staff, you will own software development of significant features in Oracle Compute service offerings. You should be comfortable with development in Java and be willing to learn new languages as needed. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. You should be comfortable working independently and can also take the lead in guiding small teams of developers. The ideal candidate will not only excel in delivering high-quality code but will also mentor and inspire others, fostering growth and helping team members become more skilled and confident developers. As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in defining and evolving standard practices and procedures.   • 3+ years of relevant experience delivering and operating large software systems at scale.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in at least one (preferably two) of the following languages: Java, C/C++, C# or GoLang
  • Strong grasp of computer science concepts (data structures, algorithms, operating systems, distributed systems fundamentals)
  • Proficiency in developing large production projects written in modern Java, Scala, Go.
  • Strong REST API development skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
  • Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, & algorithm design, etc.
  • 3+ years of total experience with software development/ programming experience with at least one object oriented coding language such as Java, C++, C#, Javascript, Go, etc.
  • Systematic problem-solving approach, strong communication skills, a sense of ownership, and drive.
  • Experienced in building highly-available and scalable distributed services.
  • Experienced with microservice design patterns.

  • Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
