OCI is expanding its mission beyond the traditional boundaries of public cloud to include dedicated, hybrid and multi cloud, edge computing, and more. At Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), we are reimagining the cloud. Our mission is to scale to hundreds of thousands of regions to meet evolving customer needs. We are building a platform to enable an autonomous cloud vision and services, transforming everything from runtime environments to the software development lifecycle and operations. Our team operates with start-up agility while leveraging the scale of one of the world's leading cloud companies. This greenfield, industry-first project will drive a fundamental shift in how the cloud is perceived and utilized. We are looking for engineers to come join our team to build a new service platform team within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The service platform will enable the development of autonomous cloud services (Services will no human in the loop operations). The platform encompasses low-level execution runtime, service management and high-level tooling. This team is focused on the platform's developer experience, accelerating the development and adoption of the platform. We need you to challenge existing engineering assumptions and boundaries, bring your expertise in highly performant, reliable software engineering and help us bring OCI to the next level. Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong grasp of computer science concepts (data structures, algorithms, operating systems, distributed systems fundamentals).
  • Experience with software development, preferably in Java.
  • Experience building and operating software as a service and cloud services.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CICD, containers, Kubernetes, and scalable, reliable workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • With your superb technical, implementation and passion for solving complex problems and demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively to delight our customers, you will collaborate with multiple teams to build the next generation OCI Service Platform.
  • As a software engineer, you’ll play a key role in defining and improving standard practices and procedures.
  • You’ll design, specify, and develop software for new projects, as well as perform tasks related to the design, development, and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

  • Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
