About The Position

Senior Medication Aide - Long Term Care at Providence Child Center in Portland, Oregon. This posting represents a full-time night shift position. Hours are 7pm-7:30am (3, 12 hour shifts), with rotating weekends and holidays. Our Long-Term Care unit within the Child Center has a total of 46 beds, serving both pediatric and adult patients. We care for a unique and diverse population of medically fragile individuals, ranging from children with complex developmental and neurological conditions to adults with chronic illnesses and disabilities. Some of our residents require long-term ventilator support, tracheostomy care, and all require some assistance with activities of daily living. Requirements

  • Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.
  • Oregon Certified Medication Aide upon hire.
  • Oregon Nursing Assistant Certification License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
  • In Compliance with the Department of Human Services (DHS), a criminal background check is required for this position upon hire.
  • 1 year of experience as a CMA in a health care setting.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months as CNA 2 with Providence

Responsibilities

  • Provides accurate medication administration and observes residents for drug reactions and manages medication processes, procedures, storage, and the medication room.
  • Acts as Subject Matter Expert in knowledge of drug interactions, medication management, and medication administration.
  • Maintains a safe environment under direction and supervision of a licensed nurse (RN or LPN).
