About The Position

Play an essential role in the quality and safety of patient care, performing a wide range of procedures that assist our providers with the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients and their health needs. We are seeking a Senior Medical Technologist – Microbiology to: Perform routine to complex lab testing. Bring forth the specialized scientific and technical knowledge essential to perform lab testing. Provide technical leadership for designated systems. Oversee all operational aspects for designated systems including, proper maintenance, calibration and performance, inventory management, training, competency assessment, and teaching. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology Required or Bachelor's Degree must include minimally 60 semester hours or equivalent, that includes either: 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses OR 24 semester hours – 6 chemistry, 6 biology and 12 chemistry, biology, medical laboratory technology in any combination Required
  • 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory with emphasis on skills related to work area Required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) Preferred
  • Master's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (MLS) or related science or healthcare field Preferred
  • 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory with emphasis on skills related to work area Preferred
  • Certification (Medical Laboratory Scientist, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Technologist in Blood Bank, Molecular Biology) by the board of American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent Preferred
