Senior Medical Science Liaison - Immunology (Wisconsin, Michigan and Ohio)
About The Position
The Immunology (Rheumatology/Nephrology) Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a credible field medical partner responsible for providing clinical, scientific and other relevant information related to rheumatology & nephrology disease states and the appropriate utilization of Genentech Immunology-related approved medicines. This field-based position will engage with healthcare providers, clinical investigators & study staff, therapeutic area experts (TAEs), population health decision makers, and patient thought leaders within their region(s), to further patient outcomes. In collaboration with home office and regional partners, Immunology MSLs are accountable for comprehensive activities focused on appropriate use of Genentech medicines, support of successful clinical development programs including, clinical trial recruitment and retention activities, competitive intelligence, Congress support, professional society engagement, and therapeutic area (TA) landscaping. In addition, Immunology MSLs are responsible for supporting multiple pipeline medicines, engaging in broad clinical and scientific discussions and expertly delivering presentations, resulting in rich customer insights shared with key stakeholders across the organization.
Requirements
- Advanced Clinical/Science Degree (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD, MSN, NP, PA etc.).
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience (clinical, managed care, academic or industry experience)
- Relevant therapeutic area knowledge, comprehensive understanding of product and safety profiles, and familiarity with managed care, health economics, reimbursement, and legal and regulatory landscape in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience as a field medical science liaison
- 2 + years’ clinical research experience (either in industry or in another, related setting)
- 2 + years' experience in therapy area
- In-depth knowledge of clinical development programs and clinical trial management
- Prior experience working in heavily matrixed organizations interfacing with commercial, clinical operations, clinical development and medical affairs organizations
Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate responses for requests for information from TA specific customers in the region
- Demonstrate deep scientific expertise in assigned molecules/products and therapeutic areas to exchange relevant information with thought leaders and healthcare decision makers
- Assist with Phase I - IV sponsored and supported clinical trials, health economic outcomes research, other TA specific medical collaborations; Support investigator/site identification, start-up, recruitment, and retention in assigned geographies. Provide critical collaboration with CRO personnel, as appropriate.
- Build and leverage relationships with key external scientific and medical customers to understand evolving healthcare trends
- Proficiency in topics beyond scientific exchange, such as value/cost of care discussions, integrated evidence planning, and strategic medical planning
- Continuous learning within the therapeutic area, active participation in upskilling programs, and adherence to guidelines and procedures.
