The Senior Medical Education Coordinator for the Pediatric Residency Program at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago plays a crucial role in the onboarding, maintenance, and exiting of all trainees and students within the educational program affiliated with the Department of Pediatrics. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all training requirements set forth by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The coordinator works closely with the Department of Pediatrics and the Office of Medical Education Leadership to provide comprehensive support for academic training focused on Pediatrics Residents. Given that the Pediatric Residency Program is one of the largest in the region, this role requires high-level coordination and support to ensure its continued success. The Senior Program Coordinator will collaborate with Department Leadership to manage the Pediatric Residency Program, leading recruitment efforts for over 1,000 applicants and managing the application process for all residency applicants and trainees. This position operates independently with limited oversight from Program Leadership, handling various administrative tasks such as coordinating stipend forms, monitoring resident attendance, and ensuring the timely submission of visa paperwork when applicable. The coordinator will also oversee the onboarding and credentialing of residents, manage resident graduation planning, and coordinate annual retreats in partnership with Program Leadership. In addition to these responsibilities, the coordinator will serve as the key point of contact for resident conference attendance and professional development spending, monitor budgets associated with these activities, and build resident block schedules in collaboration with Chief Residents and Program Leadership. The role also involves leading operational projects and quality improvement activities for the Residency Program, completing annual surveys for ACGME and McGaw Medical Center, and maintaining area-specific content for the divisional website. Overall, this position is integral to the smooth operation and success of the Pediatric Residency Program.
