About The Position

Kada Recruiting is partnering with an ad agency that has had double digit growth nearly every year over the past 10 years and continues to blossom into a leading agency for pharma clients across the US. They are in a great position of being large enough to have great resources and a variety of clients, but not so big to be too corporate and rigid in their possibilities. We are actively recruiting for a talented Senior Medical Editor. If you are currently a Medical Editor/Senior Editor with ambitions of moving up in your career into a Managing Editor role, this is a great step on the career path for you. You will be editing copy, managing Editors and making sure that high quality work is delivered to pharmaceutical clients. The ideal candidate is a digitally-savvy, versatile editor with experience in planning, reporting, writing and editing pharmaceutical copy in print as well as across digital and social media platforms. You will possess well-honed editing and rewriting skills, understand how to tell a story and engage audiences, know the ins and outs of working on client accounts and the nuances of medical editing, and possess a keen ability of how to optimally direct yourself and the efforts of others. You feel at home leading and coaching others, but you never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and get in the trenches.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications or relevant scientific field
• 3+ years’ experience as an editor with increasing responsibility
• 2+ years’ experience in medical/pharmaceutical editing
• 1+ years’ experience in an advertising agency environment
• 1-2 years’ experience managing others (either directly or indirectly)
• Proficient in AMA style
• Extremely detail-oriented and organized with superior editing skills
• Excellent written and communication skills
