About the position

The Senior Medical Director, Mental Health is a pivotal leadership role at Teladoc Health, responsible for overseeing and advancing the strategic vision, clinical operations, and quality initiatives of mental health services across the United States. This position requires an experienced leader with a deep understanding of mental health care delivery, tasked with implementing innovative, patient-centered approaches to enhance mental health outcomes nationwide. Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for mental health services that aligns with the organization's mission.
  • Integrate mental health services into broader healthcare delivery systems for a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Ensure alignment with organizational objectives to enhance the quality and accessibility of mental health services nationwide.
  • Provide authoritative clinical leadership and guidance to the mental health team, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based practices.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of clinical performance metrics and implement necessary improvements.
  • Partner with the Medical Quality division to promote national quality standards and improvement programs.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Lead the adoption of advanced telehealth technologies to enhance service delivery and patient engagement.
  • Develop and implement policies ensuring compliance with national mental health regulations and standards.
  • Partner with operational teams to ensure effective resource allocation and seamless service delivery across locations.
  • Mentor and develop mental health providers and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
  • Engage cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to enhance care coordination and patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) or Master's/PhD level mental health prescriber with active board certification in a mental health specialty or primary care specialty.
  • Active medical license to practice in the United States.
  • At least 10 years of clinical practice experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
  • Deep understanding of integrated care models, value-based care models, and population health management strategies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of virtual healthcare delivery systems, telehealth regulations, and digital health technologies.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, quality improvement, and managing healthcare clinical operations on a national scale.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with the ability to inspire a diverse workforce.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards, and compliance requirements applicable across the United States.
