A Day in the Life The ENT Operating Unit is a global leader in innovative solutions that improve patient access, outcomes, and customer satisfaction. We partner closely with the ENT community to deliver technologies that enhance lives, grounded in a culture of accountability and trust. Over the past 20 years, we’ve become a market leader in image-guided surgery, intraoperative nerve monitoring, and powered surgical instruments, while continuing to expand in tissue health and balloon sinus dilation. A Day in the Life The Senior Test Engineer is a key technical contributor within the R&D test integration team, supporting development of hardware and embedded software for ENT products. This role collaborates across hardware, software, electrical, mechanical, and systems teams to ensure products meet design, quality, and regulatory standards. You will provide technical leadership, drive verification strategy, oversee testing activities, and mentor team members throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field with minimum of 4 years of testing experience within medical devices or regulated environment, OR Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field with minimum of 2 years of testing experience within medical devices or regulated environment, OR PhD in Mechanical Engineering, or related field with 0 years of experience
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in hardware testing, design verification, and instrumentation experience in medical devices or other regulated industry
  • Strong understanding of system, electrical and mechanical requirements
  • Experience designing custom test fixtures in CAD or similar program
  • Experience with automated framework and testing environments using tools like LabVIEW
  • Experience with electrical test equipment (i.e., Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Spectrum Analyzers).
  • Demonstrate experience in hardware design transfer to manufacturing and sustaining engineering activities, including support of released products, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review system, subsystem, and component-level requirements
  • Plan, design, and execute design verification testing and reports
  • Integrate and test electro-mechanical systems in lab, OR, and clinical environments
  • Design and develop test fixtures and support automation efforts
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements
  • Identify, track, and support resolution of hardware and software defects
  • Lead design and technical reviews to ensure test coverage
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on product development and test integration
  • Represent test integration in cross-functional decisions and design reviews
  • Support usability testing and Voice of Customer (VOC) activities
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and technicians
  • Ensure adherence to product specifications, standards, and procedures
  • Develop innovative test solutions supporting new technologies
  • Perform additional duties as needed
