About The Position

As a Senior ADVT Mechanicus Test Design Engineer at FUCHS, you will play an important role in the development and innovation of mechanical and electro-mechanical test systems which will be used to validate and develop new lubricant technologies. You will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of the design, development, operation, and deployment of new mechanical and electro-mechanical test systems as well as engineering investigations into new tribological and mechanical systems. This position requires strong technical expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering, excellent project management skills, and a passion for solving complex problems. Your work will help Innovation in key market segments such as E-Mobility, Wind Power, Medical, Mining, Aerospace, Automotive, Power Tools, and food & beverage. Working closely with the Technical Community, you will enable new technologies that will lead to the development of products which exceed our customers' expectations for the Americas region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD). Solidworks Certified preferred.
  • LabView experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with FEA and CFD analysis tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of mechanical and electro-mechanical test systems from concept to production.
  • Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for machine shop production.
  • Perform engineering calculations and simulations to ensure designs meet performance and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to other ADVT engineers.
  • Identify and implement design improvements to enhance product performance.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in mechanical and electrical engineering.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, presentations, and documentation.
  • Testing of customer supplied components or mechanical specimens (Bearings, gears, etc) as required.
  • Project Management of testing and data generation projects both internal and external.
  • Develop LabView Coding and deployment software.
  • Develop and initiate test protocols utilizing DOE Methodologies.
  • Analyze and quantify data using computational and statistical analysis tools.
  • Application and Implementation of AI and Machine Learning where feasible.
  • Must understand verbal and written directions given in the English language.
  • Travel to and attendance at all company training sessions/classes, the Annual Americas R&D Meeting, various technical conferences, and customer meetings as required.
  • Travel to other FUCHS sites both domestically and internationally as needed.
