About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Packaging Design Engineer to collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary Integrated Product Team (IPT), including project management, applied mechanics, and electrical design. In this role, you will support a wide range of aerospace projects, such as cockpit displays, flight controls, air management systems, military avionics, and other avionics equipment. Assignments may involve either rotary-wing (helicopter) or fixed-wing aircraft platforms.

Requirements

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.

Nice To Haves

• Working experience with design and manufacturing processes.
• Experience in thermal and structural analysis, with proficiency using simulation tools such as ANSYS or similar.
• Working knowledge of environmental testing equipment, procedures, and qualification standards, such as RTCA DO-160 and MIL-STD-810G.
• Experience in mechanical packaging for avionics.
• Working knowledge of hardware development lifecycle, from concept through production and field support.
• Experience with engineering change management and configuration control processes.
• Ability to interpret and create technical documentation, drawings, and specifications using CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks).

• Review and approve product definition data to maintain high-quality standards.
• Design development hardware that meets project objectives and supports on-time delivery.
• Implement technically sound engineering changes within schedule while meeting performance goals.
• Apply standard work practices to drive continuous improvements in the design process.
• Support and guide other engineers on technical topics and process best practices.
• Support thermal management, structural integrity, and electronic packaging design.
• Support hardware development and manufacturing processes to optimize designs.
• Utilize thermal and structural analysis software proficiently to validate designs.
