CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer to join our Commercial & Institutional - MEP Team at our Bethlehem, PA office. The Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer, a key role at CHA, leads the technical execution of commercial and school projects within his/her discipline and provides expert consultation in one or more areas of the respective field of engineering. At CHA, this individual plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of a project independently with other engineering disciplines and project management staff. This key role provides guidance, mentorship, and technical review of work completed by junior level staff. The Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer provides technical development of proposals and external presentations (i.e., clients, public, regulatory agency, etc.). The Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer resolves highly complex technical issues and continuously monitors the progress and performance on a project to ensure efficient production and uncover potential problems. The professional in this role recognizes technical discrepancies in analytical results and makes appropriate corrections following standard procedures and recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of design.

  • Lead the technical execution of commercial and school projects within the mechanical engineering discipline.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of a project independently.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical review of work completed by junior level staff.
  • Develop technical proposals and conduct external presentations.
  • Resolve highly complex technical issues and monitor project progress and performance.
  • Recognize technical discrepancies in analytical results and recommend design alterations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer License (PE) required.
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience is required.
  • Prior engineering consulting firm experience preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to practically apply best practices.
  • Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.).
  • Understanding of QA/QC procedures and basic business practices and laws related to engineering.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software required.
  • Active role in a professional engineering society/organization preferred.
