With a reputation for quality craftsmanship and innovative solutions, they are looking for a Senior Mechanical Estimator to join their team in Edina, MN. Job Summary As a Mechanical Estimator , you will be responsible for analyzing project specifications, preparing accurate cost estimates, and collaborating with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure competitive and profitable bids. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction methods, and cost analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical estimating, preferably in HVAC and plumbing.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, construction processes, and materials.
- Proficiency in estimating software
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contract documents.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project scope.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.
- Perform material take-offs and labor estimates using industry-standard software.
- Solicit and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop competitive proposals.
- Identify potential risks and value engineering opportunities.
- Stay current on industry trends, material costs, and labor rates.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates and bid documents.
