The Senior Engineer will handle projects from start to finish with little to no oversight, tackling the most complex projects within the organization. This role involves providing oversight, mentorship, guidance, and training to other team members. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for solving complex technical issues on projects, assessing project requirements, breaking projects into tasks, and collaborating with a Project Manager to determine the scope of work, budget, and staffing needs. Additionally, the Senior Engineer will write scopes of work for mechanical design based on preliminary reviews and client meetings, prepare engineering studies and schematic designs for new systems, and analyze the operation of existing systems. The role requires working with code officials and other design professionals to interpret or seek exceptions to building codes as necessary. The Senior Engineer will also assign and review the work of the project design team, check the progress of work, and alert the Project Manager to any changes in scope or additional services required. Coordination of all aspects of project document completion within the company and externally with clients and other design professionals is essential. The Senior Engineer will prepare or review construction budgets based on experience and project scope, supervise staff on multiple projects, and provide assertive management, technical leadership, and support to team members, ensuring that all work is completed as planned and scheduled in compliance with client and company quality assurance practices. Mentoring younger staff is also a key responsibility.
