The Senior Mechanical Engineer for this role will provide leadership and creativity in the design, development, start-up, optimization and ongoing support of OEE improvement initiatives and projects. Candidates must have expertise across multiple technologies and will have a demonstrated ability to effectively provide specific project work direction to a broad range of team members. The incumbent reports to the Tissue Manufacturing AO Engineering Team Leader and receives direction in the form of general project and asset objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university.
  • 8-12 years of experience in a variety of technical or operational assignments.
  • Recognized subject matter expert in manufacturing and converting mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve project results within required timeframes.
  • Experience coaching other engineers.

Nice To Haves

  • 12+ years of experience in a variety of plant and staff assignments, including maintenance and operations.
  • Experience and expertise with Kimberly-Clark Family Care engineering technology, procedures, processes and products.
  • SME in mechanical systems. Strong experience in vibration analysis, burner systems, and winding technology.
  • Experience working with external technical service providers.
  • Evidence of continuing self-development.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out job responsibilities in a safe manner. Ensure equipment and processes meet safety codes, policies and guidelines.
  • Provide functional leadership and creativity in the initiation, design, development and optimization of manufacturing/converting and supporting processes.
  • Develop knowledge and skills to be recognized for expertise and functional leadership in application of engineering principles and/or scientific analysis.
  • Provide leadership and coach team members on written and oral communication skills.
  • Lead resolution of problems for multiple forms of processes and equipment.
  • Lead assigned projects/tasks to meet unit objectives within applicable Corporate policies.
  • Communicate fully with superiors, subordinates and others who have need to know.
  • Mentor and provide work direction for other engineers to deliver business results.
  • Contribute to an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences.
