About The Position

As a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer within the Research Engineering Group, you will drive mechanical design research efforts that support cutting‑edge innovation. This role provides expert mechanical engineering leadership while collaborating across disciplines—including structural and thermal analysis, aerodynamics, testing, software, and electrical engineering—to solve complex technical challenges. You will design, develop, prototype, and document components, sub‑assemblies, and assemblies for advanced test and measurement systems, validating fit and function through rapid prototyping and simulation. In close partnership with internal teams and external vendors, you’ll guide prototype development, coordinate manufacturing and integration of mechanical and electromechanical systems, lead peer design reviews and trade studies, and support continuous technical excellence. This role also includes engagement with manufacturing partners and contributes to strengthening Acushnet’s freedom to operate through invention documentation—offering a unique opportunity to shape innovation from concept through execution.
