About The Position

PM Group USA Inc. Seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer for its Burlington, MA location.

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering and six (6) years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, HVAC Engineer or closely related position providing A/E mechanical engineering design services for large Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences clients globally. In the alternative, the employer will accept eight (8) years of the specified experience. Any suitable combination of education, experience, or training is acceptable.
  • Full term of experience must include: Leading the delivery of the engineering design at Concept, Basis of Design, and Issue for Construction phases; Liaising with Client counterparts to agree philosophies, methods, and strategies for Mechanical designs; Applying knowledge of GMP, WHO, & European codes to perform HVAC, Utilities, and Plumbing system designs; Preparing P&ID’s, equipment plans, plant / utility distribution plans, and system details, including procurement documents; Produce efficient, compliant mechanical designs for biosafety containment and hazardous cleanroom environment; Perform technical selections for mechanical equipment to produce schedules and equipment lists; and Performing construction assistance and verification, including submittal reviews, RFI responses, and field visits, to ensure construction project is executed correctly, safely, and in compliance with all relevant specifications and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver the Mechanical engineering design for cutting-edge, complex, multidiscipline Pharmaceutical projects.
  • Perform the design of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems to World Health Organization (WHO) Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) & European Union (EU) standards, including process and plant utilities, LTHW & chilled water, centralized gas systems, biosafety cabinets & fume hoods, climate rooms, cold rooms, compressed air, Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV), steam & condensate, energy recovery systems, laminar air flow design, hazardous environments and high containment areas.
  • Execute the delivery of all design stages, from Feasibility through to Detail Design and construction deliverables.
  • Coordinate the research and production of engineering designs, drawings, and documents for systems and processes for mechanical equipment modules and packages.
  • Confer with engineers or other personnel to ensure that company quality policies and operating procedures are implemented on projects.
  • Oversee the completion of Design Risk Assessments and Technical and Safety reviews.
  • Be the primary point of contact with the Client HVAC & Utilities Subject Matter Experts and end users.
  • Ensure the success of delivered designs within hour budgets, within schedule, meeting client and code requirements.
  • Participate in proposal activity and present Company’s engineering capability to potential clients.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers on projects.
