The position offers the opportunity to be a Mechanical Engineer and work on a variety of growth initiatives in the electric and ICE vehicle space. The position requires the passion for learning about powertrain system design, supplier interactions, design and release of powertrain systems, and participate in projects in accordance with engineering excellence.

  • Subject matter expert in 1 or more subsystems in mechanical vehicle architecture (motors, engines, CVTs, transaxles).
  • Develop and maintain a vehicle and component mechanical specification and qualification plan.
  • Drive diligence and collaboration in requirements, risk analysis, DFMEA, DVP&R, engineering change notice and specifications.
  • Employ project management methodologies that ensure a predictable outcome for department goals and responsibilities.
  • Remove roadblocks and accelerate implementation of projects.
  • Develop technology roadmaps and strategies that clearly articulate how we are going to continuously win in chosen markets.
  • Drive culture of traceable test acceptance criteria using reliability and confidence in designs.
  • Mentor designers, lab technicians and other team members.
  • Understand and influence regulatory standards that affect your product.
  • Develop and drive cross functional team to scheduled milestones for assigned projects.
  • Effectively self-manage large projects.
  • Expert in Problem solving techniques (9-step, 8D, etc.).
  • First point of contact within engineering regarding customer issues.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required
  • 7+ years' experience is recommended.
  • Continuously raise your level of leadership, authority, and influence.
  • Proficient at identifying project/subsystem risks and developing/executing subsequent mitigation plans.
  • The right individual will be self-motivated, a strong collaborator, able to think creatively and work with others to find solutions, drive execution, and focus on results.
  • Strong passion to teach and grow capabilities of the company.
  • Expert in technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to teach and mentor internal engineering design processes and best practices.
  • Employs "best" solution to problem rather than most evident (considers business impact to other departments as well as technical requirements).
  • High capability in Microsoft products including Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Thorough understanding of the Engineering financial impact and a basic understanding of the needs and impact of other functions on the business.
  • Mechanical design and analysis of powertrains (electric motors, ICEs, CVTs, transaxles)
