The Airborne Sensor RF Design Department is seeking an established Mechanical Engineer to fill an On-Site position in our McKinney, TX location. We are looking for self-starting candidates to perform mechanical design and documentation of electro-mechanical assemblies, coordinate with and visit suppliers throughout the US, and support our manufacturing facility in McKinney, TX.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree or a minimum of 5 years’ prior relevant experience to include the following:
  • Experience with PTC CREO Parametric or other mechanical CAD design tools.
  • Experience with utilizing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles.
  • Experience working with internal and/or external suppliers.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of electromechanical assemblies and the interrelationship of the components therein.
  • Familiarity with active electronically scanned antenna (AESA) design, test, and integration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills to communicate program status, issues and resolution plans across all major stakeholders including senior leadership, customers, and major subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of materials and fabrication methods.
  • Knowledge of statistical concepts and how to apply them to development and production processes.
  • Knowledge of engineering and scientific methods and tools to characterize behavior of products and processes.
  • Knowledge of reading and creating mechanical fabrication and assembly drawings.
  • Production support including the use of basic measurement tools.
  • Able to work independently and as a team member.
  • Experience in the support of design and integration of mechanical products and assemblies.
  • Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Knowledge of Mechanical CAD design and electronic design.
  • Ability to travel between North Texas sites and nationwide suppliers.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplined integrated product team.
  • Experience working with Next Generation Jammer mid-band product.

Responsibilities

  • Follow established procedures and instructions while working closely with program and functional leadership to ensure the overall design and production goals are met.
  • Use experience and knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and their application for design documentation and fabrication.
  • Work within a multi-disciplined team of engineers with responsibilities ranging aerostructure design, housing design, electronics equipment packaging, circuit card assemblies, interconnects, and thermal management.
  • Work closely with the Integrated Program Team Lead (IPTL), Program Management (PM), Supply Chain, and other external personnel.
  • Support interactions with the IPTL, PM, and external personnel.
  • Support program related travel to external suppliers and other Raytheon facilities.
