About The Position

As a mechanical engineer for General Dynamics Mission Systems, Undersea Mission Solutions, you’ll be a member of and may lead a cross functional team responsible for the development of electronic and mechanical packaging design, and validation, inlcuding: structural and thermal analysis, shock and vibration, and design for manufacturability. We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences: Working knowledge of computer aided analysis tools (thermal, CFD, structural), such as Ansys; Working knowledge of computer aided design tools (3D, 2D, layout), such as Creo; Experience with small form factor, high power electromechanical elements; Self-starting, detail-focused, problem solver; Experience with high-pressure applications, including sealing technologies. Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field.
  • 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree and 6 months of job-related experience
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Proficiency with modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings
