About The Position

We're seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team focused on developing innovative products from concept to launch. This individual will play a key role in designing mechanical systems, prototyping, testing, and refining components that push boundaries in performance, reliability, and user experience.  This role required to leverage years of technical mechanical systems design experience and proven ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.Essential functions—essential functions, including how an individual is to perform them and the frequency with which the tasks are performed; the tasks must be part of the job function and truly necessary or required to perform the job. Job duties to include but are not limited to;

Requirements

  • Minimum of six years working as a Mechanical Engineer.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required
  • Highly knowledgeable in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or similar) for both 2D and 3D design.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, design for manufacturability (DFM), and GD&T.
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering principles including but not limited to, heat transfer, statics, dynamics, materials, and stress/strain.
  • Experience in designing small, precision components used in electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience in optics, vacuum chambers, electronics packaging, plastics molding, and designing for environmental survivability (shock and vibration, temperature extremes, corrosion, etc.) is required

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree and/or active Professional Engineering certification preferred
  • Familiarity with SWIM (SolidWorks Integration Module) for Teamcenter preferred.
  • Knowledge of Teamcenter to manage CAD files and associated data.

  • Works on complex design issues where analysis of situations or data requires and in-depth evaluation of variable factors.  Exercise judgement in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Interprets internal or external issues and recommends solutions/best practices.  Determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel.
  • Produce robust, unambiguous, and ASME Y14 compliant drawings to define and document the product for procurement and fabrication. Apply general tolerance and GDT principles appropriately to drawings.  Incorporate changes based on ASME Y14 standards, discreet customer feedback, general customer feedback, and internal direction.
  • Perform engineering analyses including tolerance stack up, statics, dynamics, stress/strain, and heat transfer.
  • Create new drawings (part and assembly) for mechanical and electro-mechanical components/assemblies as required.
  • Perform accurate and deliberate revisions to existing drawings within a set timeframe with minimal supervision.
  • Work independently using written feedback, general standards, and guidelines, without excessive reliance on redlines or specific, per-drawing direction.
  • Document configuration management activities (changes and initial releases) within a product lifecycle management tool (specifically Teamcenter by Siemens) as part of the overall workflow process.
  • Self-check drawings as well as check drawings created by other designers/engineers.  Solicit feedback and drawing critiques from other internal staff as well as provide similar feedback to other internal staff
