About The Position

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer focused on heavy industrial projects for our Burlington office. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, energetic team player with 10+ years of experience in the design and project management of industrial Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Pipeline, and industrial power related facilities. Coffman’s Burlington office offers an environment of working with a tight-knit team in a small office while simultaneously being part of a larger, growing company with significant opportunity. Expected annual salary of $120,000 - $135,000.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (required).
  • 10+ years of experience in oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, power, and/or pipeline industries.
  • Ability to lead a multidiscipline engineering team.
  • Ability to provide peer review of mechanical/industrial, and process facility designs.
  • Experience with front end loading engineering process and programming.
  • Ability to communicate with client/stakeholders effectively, including running design charettes and team meetings with all project stakeholders.
  • Experience with total installed cost development for mechanical systems.
  • Experience with process piping layout, bulk storage tank farm design, rotating equipment selection, and pipeline design.
  • Reading and preparing project drawings including piping and instrumentation diagrams, plans, sections, isometric piping drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Experience performing pipe stress calculations and modeling (CAESAR II software experience preferred)
  • Functional knowledge of ASME, API, and other industry standards relating to process piping, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Travelling to provide support at job sites.
