As our new Mechanical Engineer, you'll be a vital part of the Aurecon Water team who are changing the way we design and deliver major works to be carbon neutral and sustainable in South East Queensland. You'll be part of our growing Water team based in our Brisbane office. Our team works on a range of medium, large and major projects for the Queensland water market and the broader ANZ, focusing on providing feasibility, concept and detailed designs for government agency clients as well as contractor partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design for water infrastructure projects.
  • Previous technical experience in one or more of the following areas: Fluid hydraulics, Water / wastewater treatment facilities, Water / wastewater pumping stations, Pipework design
  • Proven experience in design consulting or engineering services, preferably within the water utilities sector

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) is an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to the detailed design delivery of mechanical systems for water infrastructure projects.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to routine engineering tasks and assist in resolving more complex technical challenges under supervision.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, ensuring clear and effective communication with internal teams and clients.
  • Support project delivery for key SE QLD water infrastructure clients, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team environment, contributing to a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and best practices in mechanical engineering and water utilities.
